Going to drive home?

I was at a middle school today, mentoring a 12 year old girl. When we were walking me out to my car, someone stopped us and said "where are you girls supposed to be?"

I was a little confused.

"Uhh... I'm leaving?"

Then she looked confused. So I said,

"We just got done, I'm mentoring her.."

"Oh! I thought you were a student! Okay, nevermind..."

...so yes, I got mistaken for a middle schooler today. Great.

In which all my friends get married

So, the first wedding this break was Brittney and Craig. Their reception was SO AMAZING. I have honestly never liked a reception so much. For those who don't know, Brittney was my dance teacher last year and now is my friend.

The second wedding was Katie and Jeff.
For those who don't know, Katie was my apartment-mate from July to December. We were really good friends. She's a dancer and a Math Ed. major like me.

And the other weddings are Summer and Andy (Summer used to be my apartment-mate), but they had no reception here, and Judd and whoever he's marrying (I will go to their reception on Saturday--oh, and Judd was my dance teacher this semester).

A Dancing Heather

I really wish I danced like this. I guess I'm getting there, considering I've only been in ballroom dance for a year and a few months. These are BYU dancers. They're performing a waltz.

And this is what I actually dance like. I'm in the red top and black skirt, dancing with Glenn in the red vest. I start out in the lower right. The video quality is lacking, I know... I guess Mom was distracted by us dancing when she took it.

***It appears that for some reason, this video isn't working. I give up.

Also, what girl wouldn't want to do ballroom when she gets to wear such pretty dresses?

Anyway, just thought I'd fill you guys in on this new part of my life.

Pictures of Heather and Jake

I finally got a haircut, which was so needed. This is not the best picture of it, but at least you can see the length.

Then, I went "DI-ing," an end-of-semester tradition for me and my roommate Cyrena which involves raiding all of the DI boxes in the dorms, picking out new clothes for ourselves, and giving away old clothes we don't wear. Here is a sample of my pickings -- the shirts, not the pants.

And here's my nephew Jacob, staring amazedly at the working train set under the Christmas tree. Also, he has chocolate on his face.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Heather

I have several amusing pictures to show you in celebration of my birthday (which is right now!)

Picture one: Heather inside a very large ziploc bag.

Picture two: Apparently, this is what I look like when I bowl. Apparently, I'm more of a dancer than a bowler.

Picture three: I got my Utah DL today... they gave me the paper one right away, and I assume I'll get the plastic one in the mail. I'm glad I got my license, because my old one expires... today. Er, so I guess I technically got this license yesterday, since it was before midnight at the time.

Picture four: My roommate apparently took this picture before she left, because I found it on my camera tonight. It greatly amuses me. (My roommates are all out of state for my birthday)

Well, hope you enjoyed them! I sure did!

"You're blogging again? That's like twice in a week!"

QOTD

"Yes, I enjoy leaving people better than when I met them. You're like little campgrounds to me."
