It's all in your...head?

"I'm stupid!" she cried for the fourth time that day as she incessantly clicked her mechanical pencil and stared, unfocused, at her math homework.

Sound familiar? This post if to refute those feelings I (and probably everyone else) so often experience.

We know so much. We are practically overeducated. Quick! What's the smallest continent and biggest island? What do you add to cookie dough to make it taste sweet? How do you tell if it's cheaper in the long run to buy the bigger bottle? What sport has a "home run"? Who said "to be or not to be"? What is the modern English word for "thee"? How many numbers are there? What is something vitamin C does for your health?

Oh, if only all tests in school were that easy. But think about it -- we weren't born with this knowledge. Oh, the power of the mind. Really, honestly, I just can't wait to have kids because they remind us how smart we are with their ever-trusting, ever-inquisitive nature. "Mommy, why does it snow? How do they make cloth? Why don't we eat everything with spoons? Where does sugar come from? Why? Why? Why?"

Just remember not to get annoyed. If you know the answer, it's probably because someone taught it to you.

Old Pictures

I found some old pictures that I'm really excited to post!

Here's one of my old bird, Bowie. He was flying around and landed somewhere and panicked. I think his place of landing was most appropriate.

And this is my knight in shining armor (my nephew, actually, about 5 years younger than he is now)

And this is me and my brother, celebrating, because, well duh! His creation is... burning. Well it must have been happy because look at our faces!

Well, post more later, maybe.
